In these trying times, it is a joy to know we can still have horses in our lives. With plenty of fresh air, minimal people interaction, and a world of horse right at our finger tips, it’s the icing on the bleak cake that has been 2020 for many.
Barn and horse time allows us to engage our minds, emotions and work ethic. It allows us to care for and nurture a relationship when most others have been cut off from us. We might not be able to travel, but riding on the back of our horse can feel as close to a journey as one could ever ask for.
Next time you’re at the barn, give your horse an extra squeeze of appreciation for helping you make it though the year, and hopefully many more to come!
